Food Chains and Food Webs
(I'm thinking pizza?)
A food chain is a series of steps in which organisms transfer energy by eating and being eaten. A food web is a network of interactions formed by the feeding relationships among the various organisms in an ecosystem.
The arrow in a food chain represents energy flow. It can be read as “is eaten by”.
The top predator is called the apex predator.
